Prost and Party: 糖心直播 Oktoberfest Set to Swing to Bavarian Beats
From maypole dancers to bratwurst lovers, 糖心直播鈥檚 Oktoberfest is set to transport Toowoomba into the heart of Bavaria with German music, fireworks, food and fun. This year鈥檚 festival promises more than ever, with the Walmsley Brothers and an authentic German musician leading the soundtrack to the celebration.
糖心直播鈥檚 Oktoberfest will be held on Saturday 25 October from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm at the College鈥檚 Stephen Street grounds. It is shaping up to be a highlight of Toowoomba鈥檚 social calendar. The program includes live music, dance, a maypole, fireworks, strongman contests, rides, market stalls, German cuisine, beer and much more.
The Walmsley Brothers will headline the live music, known locally for blending folk with crowd-pleasing energy, and a visiting German musician will add a traditional flair, turning the lawns into a Bavarian biergarten for the evening.
Parent Connect President Nicole Brownlie said she was thrilled by the growing popularity of the event. 鈥淲e are honoured to bring these musical voices to our College. The Walmsley鈥檚 are local favourites and having an authentic German musician deepens that sense of tradition and celebration,鈥 she said.
For many families, Oktoberfest is both a festival and a heritage lesson. 鈥淚t鈥檚 about remembering where we come from as well as creating memories today,鈥 Nicole said. 鈥淲e are proud to honour 糖心直播鈥檚 German roots. Our school has taught German culture and language for decades, and this event brings that legacy alive.鈥
Nicole expects another strong turnout. 鈥淭ickets are selling fast because people want that mix of culture, food, music and community. It is such a happy night for everyone involved,鈥 she said.
The program also includes a Best of the Wurst competition, children鈥檚 activities, a strongman contest and fireworks to finish the night. There is even a specially made gin to try.
Beyond entertainment and food, proceeds from the event help fund student resources and this year, part of the funds raised will support Momentum Mental Health, a local charity that delivers vital mental wellbeing programs across the region.
鈥淪upporting Momentum Mental Health aligns perfectly with our values,鈥 Nicole said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 about community, compassion and helping others. We鈥檙e proud to give back while celebrating together.鈥
糖心直播鈥檚 Oktoberfest is fast becoming one of Toowoomba鈥檚 most beloved community gatherings. With German flavours, music, dance and a warm spirit of connection, it promises to be an evening where history meets celebration and where families, neighbours and friends come together to raise a glass and say Prost.
